California: Prisons to Allow Same-Sex Marriages

Inmates in California prisons will be permitted to marry same-sex partners who are not incarcerated, state officials announced Tuesday. In a memorandum to wardens, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation stated that marriages between two inmates will not be permitted, due in part to “security concerns.” [read the full story here]
