Committee Studying Whether More Criminal Records Can Be Erased

A special joint committee of the South Carolina House and Senate met Friday to continue studying whether to allow more people with criminal records to get those records expunged. Right now, only some minor and first-time offense can be expunged, or erased from someone's record. Much of the discussion at this meeting dealt with pardons and whether people who receive pardons should automatically have their records expunged. [read the full story here]
