I was transferred to Solano state prison after a disciplinary incident. I disliked the fact that solano was constantly having north and south hispanic problems on the yard. Solano was one of the only institutions where northern hispanics out numbered Southern hispanics. Being a southern hispanic I arrived at this institution with expectations of getting involved in some kind of incident, it was inevitable, with still 3 years to do before my release. I did get involved, but involved with a vocational program. Optical Technology, the manufacturing of prescription eyewear. I finally left Solano state prison, but I didn't leave with a disciplinary report, but rather a certificate of completion in the Optical Technology Prigram. Two weeks after I was released I took an Opticianary Certification exam that was being offered at UCLA extension school. I have been out of Prison for over 5 1/2 years now, I contribute my success to the vocational program I acquired while in prison. If you are currently serving time take advantage of a vocational program. It will help keep you out of prison. Donuknow@aol.com
