ive been in and out for the past year. the gaurds have an authority problem. its as if every time they put on the uniform they think they are top shit. except Kathy who was over all my favorite staff. the girls defs get it easier than the guys but not by much. try being a female living with 14 other females. holy shit talk about drama. pointless drama. there are some pretty chill people in there. then theres the skinners, goofs, (whyatt simpson) the murderers and then just people who are FUCKED UP. its not bad but its not easy.

Spent just short of two years with three of the best friends I ever had, met some great people over he years and made life long friends. Most of us young punk fuckers grew out of it. And some of the brothers just need the structure. Plus working in the kitchen kept me well fed. Except for not getting laid, and kssing out on house parties, time well spent! Danny purser

Jinx

Over all I had an affair with a female c.o spent most of my time on black rock. Listen to a lot of fakers with ill intentions of actual rehabilitation graduated high school thanks to the wonderful patient school teachers. Made a few friends that I still keep in touch with. But changed my life around and haven't been behind a locked door since. I decision I chose to make. It's a prison... Whatever way you would like to look at it. If you want to help kids, delve into their family and surroundings. Figure out what their calling is and point them in the right direction. Quit trying to analyze their behaviour for your own personal guiny pig to make sense of an obviously confusing criminal justice degree.

Have volunteered there and overall found it a hopeful place for youth with a criminal background. It is a positive atmosphere from my point of view but then again I was not there at all hours of the day. It has been good to see what others have wrote when it comes to their actual impressions. I know being in a prison can have some dark recourse and all the unwritten rules must be terrible to bear. I am glad to know though former inmates are relatively positive about their experiences. I have a degree in Criminal Justice.
