My husband gets out on Sept 4th, 2011. In about a week. Where do I pick him up and at what time? Does anybody have any info? Thanks so much.

My Husband is a double lifer and has been down 28 years. He started out at San Quentin and was transfered to folsom. He was there for 3 years then was transfered to cmc east (hospital side) and has been there every since.
He used to lift weights was a muscled monster, he took creatine to bulk up. One big problem he had was that his kidneys had shut down and he was in and out of coma for 6 months. Now he is diabetic type 2. I have heard some awful stories from other prisons, and I can say this about cmc east in san luis obispo, and I am so thankful for the care that has kept my husband alive. However, with the budget the way it is has caused a lot of serious tensions with CO's because they are pissed at having to take four furlough per month booo hooo.
But our loved oned are locked down alot, "C quad and "B quad are hardly ever on the yard-talk about alot of tension on the yard. It's gonna blow and it won't be a joke by any means. Now they want to stop visiting days as well - this is what keeps our family together. Our family is a strong knit famlily we love our Dad, Husband, grandfather, long time friends. All i can say is this you have to keep the faith because that is really all we have.

Make no mistake, I've been to Wasco 3 times and if you think that it's "just reception" and all the crazy shit happens on the mainline (which is true but) think AGAIN. Hit D yard, especially 1 building and it's basically level 4 with not as many knives and not as many chances to get at your enemies. But if there is a chance it is Mandatory to get off on your enemies in the building if a door is popped by accident. And if you're no good you'll be found out and filleted. D 6 is a serious hole as well, so "just reception?"

Can anyone give me any kind of info on this prison? My man is going to be going there for reception and might end up serving the rest of his time there since he only has less than a year to serve. Will I be able to go visit? What kind of visits can I get and how is that prison counting good behavior? Any info?

My name is Raymond aka. cisco I've been doing time since 1978.I've been to almost every prison in california. To tell you the truth pretty much every prison is like going to disneyland. We get up in the morning at 5:30am for breakfast go back to our cells, go back to sleep get up at 11:30 for lunch go to the yard and play handball,basketball,baseball,horseshoes,liftweights. Go back to our cells for count, come out at 5:30 for dinner, go back to our cells come out for night yard till about 9:00pm go back to our cells and call it a night, tommorrow is another day. Oh ya once a month we get to go to the storeand once every 3 months we can get a package of goodies sent in. Que vida!! What a life!!

WELL, i WILL START AT THE VERY FIRST THING, i WAS RIDING MY BIKE HIGH ON METH..i WAS STOPED BY THE POLICE AND i WAS SEARCHED WHERE THEY FOUND A QUARTER GRAM OF METH! So I went to the local jail (Fresno County Jail) and was there 2 weeks. I was sentenced to prop 36 and I was given 3 chances and I blew every chance. Well, I found myself inside jail again and was final sentenced to 16 months of CDC (prison).
I went on a scary bus ride (scary, because I was scared to go to prison for my first time). I went to wasco reception and put on the B yard, known as a triple CMS, which is for people who are mental like me. I have major mental problems, so they put me on the B yard where all the looneys and child molesters and rapist are at! I hate it, it was cell living, two men to a cell, and it was very hot at times that you couldn't even breathe because the heat was so unbearable!
I read a lot, and I MEAN A LOT!!! No t.v., no radio, no phones, it sucked. I stayed at wasco for 100 days and was released...it sucked bad, not because of the violence or threat of being raped (which i did not encounter either) but because it was hot and very, very boring and lonely...a majority of the inmates are total idiots! Thieves and liars.
I felt I didn't belong, just a good thing my girlfriend at the time sent me books every week, so I always had great books and that alone was a total blessing. Well, wasco in other words, is bad...very bad....thank you for reading this...god bless you and your family member who is locked up, god loves prisoners very much, i seen eventhe most evilest people go total christian and humble themselves! GOD BLESS US ALL!

One time I went to Wasco. I'm from East Los Angeles, a South Sider, and my own Raza tripped on me. I said Chales with you Vatos. They messed me up and the next day I got stabbed 12 times, almost died. Ever since then I have behaved well, and had enough of the Sur 13.

Right now my boyfriend is in Wasco State Prison. He got picked up on a parole-sweep, for violation, and was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I think he will be gone for about six months, and that's longer than the time I've known him. My question is, Why does the system still send him to prison instead of offering him programs near where we live?
Prisons are alread over-crowded and I think prisons should be for the violent offenders and the sickos.
Violation is such a petty crime!

Wasco is a reception and main line level 1 and 3. In the reception sides or yards, like d yard, the worst of the worst are there, and inmates get tortured by the predators here.
The weak are always the first targets, but some mistake meekness for weakness and the animal comes out. That is rare. Most are just victimized until they swallow their pride and tell an officer about abuse. Prison ruins many lives and California is a little too quick to send petty felons to prison. One of these people rapped was in for petty theft with a prior and they put him in with a known rapist. There is a saying: If you cant do the time dont due the crime. That is a message to the meth heads.
