Sheriff: Automation saving manpower, money

PRINCETON—Gibson County Jail’s new video visitation program boosts inmate morale and saves manpower, Sheriff George Ballard told county commissioners Tuesday night. The program implemented earlier this year has reduced the manpower that was needed for visitation days, he explained. Now friends and family with home computers and Skype can log in for video visits with inmates from a computer in the jail day room, he said. [read the full story here]
