Suicide Concerns for Offenders in Prison Environments (SCOPE)
The Suicide Concerns for Offenders in Prison Environments (SCOPE) is a test that was developed in the UK for assessing the risk of suicide and nonfatal self-harm behaviour among adult male and female offenders. The test is composed of 27 items measuring two subscales: Optimism and Protective Self-Worth. Research has shown acceptable concurrent validation with the Beck Hopelessness Scale. Items are scored on a six-point Likert scale ranging from 0 (strongly agree) to 6 (strongly disagree).
