I was incarcerated in dwight cc. and a part of the transition of Logan becoming a female prison.. It was hell. After being in intake in dwight we were told once we pulled into logan that we would be put into general population. That was a lie. I was on a bus that got put right back into intake. while sitting there for at least a month. We had only 1 yellow transfer uniform that was not changed out and not washed in the first 3 wks i was in intake at logan c.c. we were not given the oppurtunity to clean or disinfect our cells either. Until about the last week they decided to pick a couple of inmates to clean the day room and go around with cleaning supplies to give us the opportunity to clean our cells. they also assigned others to do our laundry. Finally after 3 wks!!! all along each wing had a washer and dryer as well as a stocked room with cleaning supplies. People were broke out with some type of fungus rash and nobody would do anything about it. I wasn't able to get assigned a pin number to use the phone to call home until about 3 months into my incarceration. I was in intake when they decided to start housing inmates in the gym. Thank God I didn't get assigned over there and finally got put into gp. they were always understaffed canceling our rec time at least 2 or 3 times a week. My sentence was only 6 months and once I got 60 days short they decided to assign a going home unit that was a dorm of about 90 women....in gp we were in 4 man cells mainly. a lot of bs so glad that is over with.

Thank for sharing your story, I see your sentencing was only for six months, I would like to know are you a mother that was incarcerated. Who was caring for your children during that time. Have you reunited with children and how is that going for all. Thanks
Are they pretty "picky" there with inmate rules? Do they allow relationships between inmates? I'm curious to know the rules and routines, I have a friend that will be spending alot of time there.

They don't "allow" relationships but its not hard to get around that. A lot of ppl. do. you get to know what co's you can pull it with and which ones you cant
the prison is not over staffed. it's as well as most illinois prisons are way over staffed. I was in for 2.5 years. The most at logan until they made it a female prison, and it's ridiculous how many guards are paid for doing nothing.

thats true, I have a friend in Logan right now. every time I visit mostly the visiting room on the right side , the 1 with mold on the ceiling the C
O s are just standing around talking about what they are going to do on thier off day, 4 of them standing around doing nothin. and my friend has her stuff stolen and reports it and gets sent to seg for 30 days. understaffed what a joke! if there is a fight they walk the other way. they need a new Warden.
I THINK ITS HORRIBLE THAT LOGAN IS UNDER STAFFED AND OVERCROWDED WAITING FOR A RIOT TO KICK OFF SOON..... LOCKING THEM DOWN WONT STOP SHIT THE WARDEN IS YOUR BIGGEST PROBLEM SHE NEEDS TO GO AND LEAVE THE POLITICS TO A MAN
