When I was in this place it was a very dangerous place, locked down quite a bit!
It's about time they find the dead people on the property!

My son has sat in Clark County Detention Center for over a year now. He turned 18 and will be soon turning 19 in jail. I am not a parent that has ever said, not my child. We all are waiting together to see what if anything he will be convicted of. While we wait he has recived his high school diploma, has become a total book worm, and is now looking towards a college education in either prison, or in the real world. The families of the inmates need to remember to engourage thier loved ones to read, in a book they can go anywhere. They learn to use there heads and it brings joy to some that feel so bad. Do you know some can not read or write very well, if each family sent a book the inmates could go far beyond those walls. My love and to support to all the inmates, there families and the famillies that have been affected by the inmates actions.
I would also like to address the visiting area. We are given a chance to see our loved one for 25 min twice a week. Learn the rules: don't show your breast, wear tank tops, hold up the line getting in because your purse is so big it won't fit in the machine. You know you have to go through a metal detector, so don't wear half the crap you do. Smooth and calm, start the visit out right, and so everyone can have a nice visit, dont yell, scream, cry, and threaten, remember free will you still have it. They don't. Tell them you're sorry today's visit is going well so you need to go. Why do you want to make them all mad and make it all about you? Step away and save face because everyone is staring at you being foolish. Also the one that likes to flash her boobs to her guy, that's my son next to your guy and he doesn't need to see no eye makup running, snot nose, out of control freak flash her boobs. Grow up and act decent.
Also wish they had a better food list from the store, all the stuff is fatty and unhealthy. Give the inmates some fruit, some healthy stuff, anything a mother would approve of.
Thank you to the staff for not treating the guest like were criminals. Thank you even more for watching out for all the lives in there. May God bless each of you.

My story is not about me. Its about my brother. My brother started stealing at the age of 10. My parents tried everything to get him to stop. He later got sent to Shawbridge Juv Detention centre at the age of 16. He has spent time in Maximum Pen.7 Years to be exact for Bank Robbery. He has turned 20 inside, 30 inside, and now he is 40 years old and still in a High Medium Pen. He has gotten worse with all these years he has spent in jail. He is now Institutionalized and has been out over the past 24 years for a total of no more than 3 years and not more than 8 months at a time. Drugs is a big reason for all of his actions. I just read the story of the kid who's Father committed suicide while incarcerated and that is definatley sad to hear. But you would think he would learn from his Father's mistakes and follow a better path in life. My brother is really not a bad person. Just seems he cannot deal with life on the outside anymore. Good luck to you all.

I am 16 years old now, my name is Tommy and my father got sent to jail in Clark County Jail in January 2007. I couldnt deal with the fact that my dad was going to be transferred to a state prison, but he killed himself before they could send him there. I could deal with the fact that my father was a drug dealer and he was involved in gangs and had previously killed people. He was my dad, so what was I supposed to do, try and change it? I was just a kid and he was supposed to be doing life imprisonment but he was lowered for 3-35 years. He died in this prison on January 18th, 2007 when he commited suicide by hanging.
Years have passed and I have been sent to Juvy left and right since he died, and I am about to be cahrged with armed robbery, attempted murder, possesion of a firearm and theft. I can probably do time in a federal penitentary for maximum 5 years.
